We loved seeing our Wildcats back on campus!
A Big Blue Thank You to everyone who came out to our Homecoming Tailgate on Oct. 9 before Kentucky beat LSU. It was especially nice being able to honor our Golden Wildcat classes of 1970 and 1971 that weekend, as well.
Enjoy the following galleries from the Golden Wildcat Society 50th Reunion Dinner & Pinning Ceremony, as well as from our pregame tailgate at Kentucky Proud Park and when our Golden Wildcat Committee members were recognized at Kroger Field before the game.
At the Golden Wildcat Society 50th Reunion Dinner, Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton, who also happens to be a member of the class of 1971 in the College of Nursing, read a proclamation declaring Oct. 7-10, 2021, as Golden Wildcat Weekend in Lexington.
The proclamation states:
Whereas the classes of 1970 and 1971 are officially being initiated into the Golden Wildcat Society in celebration of graduating from the University of Kentucky 50 or more years ago; and
Whereas our hearts are full of good memories from our days at the University that helped prepare us for adulthood; and
Whereas today UK has an ever-growing list of national rankings in which it is regularly listed in many “top” and “best of” categories; and
Whereas although a few decades have passed since we were students here, we still bleed blue!
Now, therefore, I, Linda Gorton, Mayor of Lexington, do hereby declare October 7-10, 2021, Golden Wildcat Weekend in Lexington and congratulate my fellow members of the classes of 1970 and 1971.
