UK DanceBlue hosted its annual 24-hour, no sleeping, no sitting dance marathon March 25-26, raising $1,650,857.26 for the DanceBlue Hematology and Oncology Clinic at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Since 2006, more than $20 million has been raised.
UK alumni assisted in the fundraising efforts by presenting a check for $131,295.60 during the event on Sunday. For the past year, alumni clubs held a variety of fundraisers in partnership with the UK Alumni Association and the UK Alumni Ambassadors.
DanceBlue alumni gathered at the King Alumni House Saturday evening for a reception, donuts on Sunday morning on the Alumni Balcony in Memorial Coliseum and even enjoyed some time on the dance floor Sunday afternoon.
Five UK Alumni Ambassadors formed a DanceBlue team, spending their weekend on the floor of Memorial Coliseum with more than 600 UK students.
