Alumni Career Services hosting its first Leadership Week

UK Alumni Career Services is hosting its first Leadership Week, which is being offered virtually for UK alumni and friends. Presented April 26 – 29, the free series will focus on leadership topics for today’s managers, supervisors and aspiring leaders. The virtual format includes panel and roundtable sessions.

The series will kick off with an engaging panel on modern leadership featuring UK alumni in a variety of leadership roles and industries. Roundtable sessions will feature topics on essential leadership skills, ally development and more.

The schedule for the week:

Wildcats Take the Lead: Best Practices from Today’s Leaders
Monday, April 26, noon – 12:45 p.m. EDT
This is a panel on modern leadership featuring UK alumni in a variety of leadership roles and industries. The impact of COVID-19 in the workplace will also be addressed. Submit your questions in advance to ukalumnicareer@uky.edu. This session will be hosted in Zoom and streamed on the UK Alumni Association Facebook page at  www.facebook.com/ukalumni. Leading Remote Teams: Practical Tips for Supervising Teams via Distance
Monday, April 26, 3 – 3:30 p.m. EDT

Job Search Tips & Strategies Panel
Tuesday, April 27, 9 a.m. EDT
This is a popular annual Job Club meeting. It features a panel of local human resources professionals and recruiters. Learn job search tips and strategies directly from those involved in the recruiting and hiring process. Tech Tips for Low Tech Managers: How to Run a Great Zoom Meeting
Tuesday, April 27, 1 – 1:30 p.m. EDT

Wednesday, April 28, noon – 1 p.m. EDT
This is a roundtable session for a unique diversity conversation. During this session, we will review and discuss case studies allowing leaders to enhance managerial skills and navigate difficult workplace situations. Wednesday, April 28, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. EDT
This session will focus on the strengths and weaknesses of each management style associated with the Predictive Index Management Style Quiz. The final session of Leadership Week focuses on Enneagram personality styles and leadership implications.
