As part of the Citrus Bowl Week festivities, the UK Alumni Association and Penn State Alumni Association collaborated on a joint service project at Clean the World in Orlando, Florida. Clean the World is a nonprofit organization that recycles soap and hygiene amenities form hotel and travel partners around the world.
On Monday, Jan. 31 from 9 – 11 a.m., alumni and friends from the two schools packaged hygiene kits and sorted supplies for Clean the World. The event started with a lively pep rally featuring the UK Band and Cheerleaders from both schools. The executive directors from each alumni association also addressed the crowd in attendance. UK participants also received complimentary Cats for a Cause T-shirt from the UK Alumni Association.
A few camera crews were there to document the event to Lexington and Orlando viewers. Attendees from both groups enjoyed the camaraderie and service through the opportunity. Enjoy a few photos from the event, and thank you to all of our alumni who came out.
