The Bill Gatton Student Center, UK’s new $200 million, 378,000-square-foot facility, held its official grand opening on Friday.
The student center is named for businessman and philanthropist Carol Martin “Bill” Gatton ’54 BE, whose $20 million foundational gift made the major three-year renovation and expansion of the building possible.
A Coke toast was held for Mr. Gatton at the end of Friday’s ceremony, which included a performance of ‘My Old Kentucky Home” by UK Choirs.
