“Goose” Givens was special guest at Fulton Co. scholarship banquet

UK legend Jack “Goose” Givens was the special guest last Thursday at the 6th Annual John McAlister Memorial Scholarship Banquet sponsored by the Fulton County UK Alumni Club at the Keg Restaurant in Fulton.

Givens led the Wildcats to the 1978 National Championship and was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player. Givens was also inducted as part of the inaugural UK Athletics Hall of Fame Class in 2005.

Scholarships were also presented to local students, including Tristen Roberson and Sarah Gardner,

who will be attending UK in the fall. A portion of the event proceeds benefited the Fulton County UK Alumni Club scholarship fund.
