Fresh off an exciting run through the opening rounds, Kentucky Volleyball is heading to the Sweet 16 — and the Wildcats are hosting in Lexington once again. To keep the momentum going, the UK Alumni Association will welcome fans back to the King Alumni House for another free “Block” Party ahead of this week’s NCAA Tournament matchup.
The open-house-style event is designed to give fans a place to gather before heading to Historic Memorial Coliseum to cheer on the Wildcats.
The pregame celebration will be held Thursday, Dec. 11, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. EST, before UK faces Cal Poly at 3:30 p.m. EST in the Sweet 16.
Fans can enjoy snacks, refreshments and a hot cocoa bar, along with swag and giveaways. Additional activities include music, face painting and photo opportunities with the Wildcat mascot. Other NCAA volleyball tournament games will be streamed during the event.
“The energy last week was incredible — our alumni and fans showed up in a big way, and the Block Party became a rally point before the match,” said Jill Smith, vice president for stakeholder engagement and executive director of the UK Alumni Association. “We’re thrilled to host it again as the Wildcats continue their run in the NCAA Tournament here in Lexington.”
The King Alumni House is located at 400 Rose Street, just steps from Memorial Coliseum.
