The University of Kentucky Alumni Association is proud to welcome its newest alumni club.
On May 21, the Muhlenberg County UK Alumni Club was formed to become Kentucky’s 20th alumni club and the association’s 66th club overall. There are roughly 60 active UK Alumni Association members in the Muhlenberg club.
The following were elected as officers: Mike H. Mercer ’80 BE, president; John R. Kirtley ’96 College of Arts & Sciences, ’98 College of Education, vice president; Anna Yvonne Worthington ’62 ’71 College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, secretary; and Brian W. Wiggins ’95 College of Arts & Sciences, ’99 College of Law, treasurer.
“I’m very excited that our county has been given the opportunity to establish a local UK Alumni Club. The University of Kentucky has always been supportive of its alumni, so it is an honor for us to be able to support and promote our university locally,” says Mercer. “We want our high school students to know what a great experience UK was for all of us and can be for them, too.”
The club announced that a fall event is planned and information will be available at a later date. For information about the club go to www.ukalumni.net/muhlenberg.
