Grad Gathering draws graduates, families at UK Commencement this weekend

The UK Alumni Association welcomed new graduates and their friends and families to our Grad Gathering celebration following Commencement ceremonies this past Friday and Sunday at Rupp Arena.

UK handed out more than 3,700 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate and professional degrees during Spring Commencement.

Four honorary degrees were awarded over the weekend: Tom Hammond ’67 AFE received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters; Debra Hensley received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters; Sara Holroyd received an Honorary Doctor of Arts; and Geoffrey Manley received an Honorary Doctor of Science.

The four student speakers were Esias Bedingar, Andrea Bokamp, Elizabeth Dempsey and Elizabeth Foster.

Full video of each ceremony will be available within two weeks after Commencement on the university’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/universityofkentucky.
