Annual Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards handed out Wednesday

The 2017 Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards were handed out Wednesday afternoon in a ceremony at the King Alumni House.

Honoring the extraordinary philanthropy career of Mr. Mobley, the Terry B. Mobley Philanthropy Awards are designed to recognize and reward staff who have demonstrated outstanding performance and professional achievement. Mobley served the university for 27 years as chief development officer and retired as Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

This year’s award winners are:

Professional Achievement Award
Paula Pope, Executive director of philanthropic Engagement, UK Philanthropy. The Professional Achievement Award is for a professional staff member who has a UK Philanthropy or UK Alumni Association tenure of five or more years.

Rising Achievement Award
Lisa Blackadar, Director of Philanthropy, UK College of Fine Arts
Sara-Elizabeth Bush, Alumni Engagement coordinator, UK Alumni Association
The Rising Achievement Award is for a professional staff member who has a UK Philanthropy or UK Alumni Association tenure of less than five years.

Front Line Award
Bill Nims, Administrative Support Associate, UK Philanthropy
The Front Line Award is presented to a support staff member who exemplifies outstanding performance in support of fund raising or alumni engagement efforts at UK.

Philanthropy Service Award
Taunya Phillips, Associate Director, Strategic Alliances, Office of Technology Commercialization
The Philanthropy Service Award is for a UK senior professional, administrator, or faculty member (such as a Dean or Center Director) who has demonstrated extraordinary service in advancing UK philanthropic goals who is not a full-time fundraising or alumni professional.
