It is no secret that the UK community loves to give back to the school that has given them so much. That generosity and love was on display again on Friday, Sept. 22.
The UK Alumni Association handed out 76 scholarships (20 Association Scholarships and 56 Club Scholarships) to 159 students totaling $192,800 during the 2017 Scholarship Celebration at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington.
Twelve clubs were recognized for donating $3,000 or more to their scholarship fund in 2016-2017: Christian County, Clark County, Fayette County, Hopkins County, Greater Houston, Jacksonville (Fla.), Greater Louisville, Greater Louisville Young Alumni, McCracken County, Greater Nashville, New York City and Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati.
Alumni Club Volunteers, members of the UK Alumni Association’s Board of Directors, students, parents and university Administrators all were in attendance at the celebration.
Six scholarship winners recorded videos thanking donors for their generous gifts to UK that allows them to attend school here.
