This past Saturday, Sept. 9, the Wildcats played for the first time at Kroger Field. The weather was picturesque and the Wildcats advanced to 2-0 after defeating the EKU Colonels, 27-16. Saturday was exciting for many reasons – the first home game, a gorgeous afternoon, remaining undefeated for the 2017 football season, and the for the UK Alumni Association, a special promotion of the new UK alumni credit card through Central Bank.
Outside Gate 4, fans found central Kentucky artist Graham Allen painting three 6×4-foot replicas of the new UK alumni cards issued by Central Bank. The murals will be autographed by several UK head coaches and one mural will be given to a lucky fan. Interested alumni and fans had the opportunity to enter their name into a drawing for the card near the site of the murals.
For the first time, the University of Kentucky is partnering with a community bank to offer a credit card. The card will provide funds to the UK Alumni Association and cash-back benefits to users. Central Bank has been a longtime supporter of UK athletics and is now offering the Central Bank UK Alumni Visa Card. Proceeds from the card will enable the UK Alumni Association to further provide association activities and benefits, such as scholarships, diversity efforts, awards programs and alumni events.
UK President Eli Capilouto was among the many alumni and fans who stopped by to check out the murals prior to kickoff. To learn more about the UK Credit Card program, visit www.centralbank.com/ukcard.
