UK Alumni Association Celebrates Member Appreciation Week with Exclusive Perks and Events

The UK Alumni Association is celebrating its members with Member Appreciation Week, Feb. 17-21, held in conjunction with UK Founders Day on Feb. 22. Throughout the week, members will enjoy exclusive giveaways, digital games, discounts and the chance to win a UK Men’s Basketball Package Sweepstakes.

Exclusive Sweepstakes for Members

Members — including those who have completed at least 12 credit hours at UK, Active Members, and Life Members — can enter to win a UK Men’s Basketball Package, which includes:

• Two lower arena tickets to a UK Men’s Basketball game of choice during the 2025–26 season
• A basketball signed by UK Men’s Basketball Head Coach Mark Pope
• $200 Tony’s of Lexington gift card
• Kyle Cavan Go Big Blue necklace
• M. LaHart UK belt 
• UK gear 

Members can register online to enter the sweepstakes and earn additional entries by checking their email and following the UK Alumni Association on social media. Winners will be announced on Feb. 23 via the UK Alumni Association’s social media platforms. 

Daily Activities and Giveaways

In addition to the sweepstakes, Member Appreciation Week will feature daily trivia on social media with a chance for followers to win swag, an exclusive UK campus art print download featuring the UK fight song, and a weeklong digital game series where participants can win prizes and compete for the grand title of Game Series Champion.

Schedule of Events 

Monday, Feb. 17

• Discount Day – Members receive exclusive savings at the UK Alumni Gear Pop-Up Shop, Shady Ray’s, Kyle Cavan, and the UK Bookstore (promo codes will be emailed).
• Digital Game Series: Big Blue Memory – Play for a chance to win a prize and earn points toward the grand prize. Details will be emailed to those eligible.

 Tuesday, Feb. 18

• Digital Game Series: Word Shuffle Challenge – Play for a chance to win a prize and earn points toward the grand prize. Details will be emailed to those eligible.

 Wednesday, Feb. 19

• Digital Game Series: Cat Match Mania – Play for a chance to win a prize and earn points toward the grand prize. Details will be emailed to those eligible.
• Super-Sized Wildcat Wednesday (SAA Members Only) – Members of the Student Alumni Association (SAA) are invited to a special experience at the King Alumni House from 9 to 11 a.m. Grab some friends and join us for:
  • Special guest UK Baseball Head Coach Nick Mingione (9:30–10 a.m.)
  • Free breakfast from Chick-fil-A and Great Bagel & Bakery
  • Photo opportunities with UK mascots, Wildcat and Scratch
  • Exclusive SAA giveaways including a T-shirt and poster
  • A chance to win the SAA Baseball Fun Pack, featuring:
    • Four tickets (covered seating and Lexus Lounge access) to the UK baseball game vs. Ole Miss on Friday, April 4, 2025
    • A baseball signed by UK Head Baseball Coach Nick Mingione

  Thursday, Feb. 20

• Digital Game Series: Wildcat Word Search – The final round for a chance to win a prize and earn points toward the grand prize. Details will be emailed to those eligible.

 Friday, Feb. 21

• UK Founders Day Festival (11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gatton Student Center) – Celebrate UK’s 160th birthday with games, prizes, giveaways, snacks and music at this free event open to the entire campus and community.
• Sweepstakes Winner Announced – Follow UK Alumni Association on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see who wins the UK Men’s Basketball Package Sweepstakes.
• Game Series Champion Announced – The top player from the weeklong digital games will be crowned and win the grand prize. Check the UK Alumni Association’s social media platforms to see who wins.

Who is a Member?

• Members – Anyone who has completed at least 12 credit hours at UK.
• Active Members – Those who have given $75 or more cumulatively to any UK funds annually.
• Life Members – Those who have purchased a Life Membership.
• Student Alumni Association (SAA) Members – UK students who have given $25 or more cumulatively to any UK fund annually.
• Recent Graduate Active Members – Those who completed their first UK degree within the past five years and have given $25 or more cumulatively to any UK fund annually.
