The UK Alumni Association will host two book signing events for Jack “Goose” Givens in Western Kentucky at the end of October. Hardcover copies of his book “They Call Me Goose: My Life in Kentucky Basketball and Beyond” and exclusive shirts are available for pre-order when registering in advance.
Givens’ book reflects his life and career as a basketball legend. In collaboration with journalist Doug Brunk, Givens presents fans with intimate details on growing up in a Lexington housing project, his success with UK men’s basketball through his years with NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and the Japan Basketball Association, his career as a college and NBA television color analyst, to his recent work as a commentator for the UK Sports Network.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, the Warren County UK Alumni Club will host a signing at threeTHIRTYone Event Venue at 331 Kentucky St. in Bowling Green, Kentucky, from 5-7 p.m. CT. The event cost $20 to attend and includes appetizers. A cash bar will be available. Tickets and books can be purchased here.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, the McCracken County UK Alumni Club will host a signing at the McCracken County Public Library at 555 Washington St. in Paducah, Kentucky, from 5-6:30 p.m. CT. Attendance is free. Registration and book orders can be made here.
