Get ready to paint the town blue and white! The University of Kentucky’s Homecoming Week is just around the corner, running from October 6-13, 2024. We invite all students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members to join us for a week-long celebration of Wildcat spirit and tradition.
Here are some of the exciting events you won’t want to miss:
- Homecoming Block Party – October 7th, 4-6 PM, Alumni Commons Kick off the festivities with UK-themed giveaways, refreshments, games, and performances. Show your creativity by decorating UK-themed items and participate in the lively Wildcat Jeopardy!
- Movie Night on the Main Lawn– October 8th, 7:30 PM, Join us for a special outdoor screening of “Pitch Perfect 1” on the UK Main Lawn. Bring your blankets and friends for a fun evening under the stars
- Dine Around Town – October 10th Explore local eateries offering specials and themed decor. It’s the perfect opportunity to reconnect with friends and discover new favorite spots near campus.
- Big Blue Day at Keeneland – October 11th, starting at 11 AM Join us for a day of racing and UK pride! Enjoy performances by the UK Alumni Band, cheerleaders, and dance team. Look out for appearances by UK legends and special Winner’s Circle events.
- Campus Bus Tour – October 12th, 9 AM (Free) Take a relaxing tour of our transformed campus, including stops at W.T. Young Library, Gatton Student Center, and the new Alumni Commons.
- Homecoming Tailgate Tent Party – October 12th, 4:45 p.m. Get pumped for the big game with food, live music, games, and performances by the UK Pep Band and UK Cheer!
- Kentucky Wildcats vs. Vanderbilt Commodores – October 12th, 7:45 p.m. Cheer on our Wildcats as they face off against Vanderbilt at Kroger Field!
Exciting All-Week Activity: Swag Cab Throughout Homecoming Week, keep an eye out for the Swag Cab cruising through campus! Each day, special guests will be giving lucky students rides to class. If you can correctly answer trivia questions – Cash Cab style – you’ll have a chance to win exciting prizes. Flag down the Swag Cab for your shot at glory!
College-Specific and Student Success Activities Don’t miss out on the unique events and activities hosted by individual colleges and student success organizations! These activities offer great opportunities to connect with your academic community and celebrate the diverse accomplishments across our campus. Can’t Make It to Lexington? Celebrate Homecoming at Home! While celebrating Homecoming in Lexington is incredibly special, we understand not everyone can make it back to their Old Kentucky Home. Don’t worry – you can still be part of the excitement! We’re providing events and experiences for alumni and friends to participate in Homecoming and spread Wildcat cheer from wherever you are. Stay tuned for more information on how to join in the fun remotely.
